Philosophy.
The breeding program is simple.
We use genetics that will help our commercial customers meet
their needs and provide these genetics in a user friendly package.
Our basic criteria starts with calving ease,
disposition
and competitive growth while maintaining a moderate mature size.
We keep our own replacements so we demand fertility, udder quality
and great dispositions. Customers also wanting growth and
muscle know our bulls will deliver.

These bulls have
completed their gain test and
are being hand fed on
fescue pasture.

Bulls, such as
8A16, are developed in large pastures with the goal of
maintaining their
soundness
and athletic ability. Our bulls will compliment you
British cows,
adding the
thickness and growth
to produce those head-turning feeder calves.
Management.
Currently, Angell Charolais has 125
females. Eighty-percent calve in the Fall and 20% calve in the
Spring. We have
synchronized our Fall calving cow herd for the past three breeding
seasons with CIDRs and follow with our clean-up bull. We
demand fertile cows and if they are open, they are gone!
We have purchased our herd bulls from Wienk
Charolais at Lake Preston, SD for the past ten years.
Recently we have AI'ed to bulls from Weink Charolais and the
Lindskov-Thiel Ranch of Isabel, SD.

Cows like this raise the
perfect bulls to use on your British cows.

Our solid foundation
creates user-friendly bulls. We stress good dispositions,
well attached udders, reasonable size and sound feet and legs.
We spend a lot of time picking the right genetics so you can buy
with confidence.

We demand our cattle
perform under the same
conditions as the cattle
managed by our customers.
These
heifers were AIed to LT Easy Pro on November 20th and then
exposed to an LT Easy Pro grandson that serves as our clean-up
bull.

Just another wet, winter
day in February!

Tested.....and Approved!
Dear Sally and
Justin,
The Angell Charolais
bulls have taken our herd to where they have never been
before! These bulls have soundness, fleshing ability and a
quiet disposition. We have used these bulls on our Red
Angus females and the calves have met and exceeded our
expectations! They have contributed to excellent calving
ease, with low birth weights, followed by explosive growth.
These cream-hided
calves have definitely risen to the top and have beaten
their black mates at the market in price, as well as
purchased by repeat buyers. We were looking for bulls to
supply us with replacement heifers, club calves, and more
consistent Choice or better beef on the hook. We have found
all of this and will continue to use Angell Charolais, for
this great
Continental/British
cross. Thank you, Sally and Justin!
Sincerely,
Don & Stella O'Brien
